The 11 changes in the New Law.

Discounts, reductions in fines and loopholes for the legalization of arbitrary buildings with an irrevocable court decision gives the new law on arbitrary buildings passed yesterday in Parliament. At the same time, the law unfreezes the transfer of the building factor and simplifies the procedures for issuing building permits.

Specifically, the bill provides that owners will have a reduction in fines and penalties, an increase in instalments from 80 to 100 and generous discounts for vulnerable groups. It is noted that those who built an arbitrary building after 28 July 2011 and demolish it voluntarily within 30 days will pay a fine of 500 euros.

Regarding the electronic building identity card, the Ministry of Environment clarified that it is not mandatory, while it was noted that the information will be entered into the electronic platform gradually. In any case, information on all new buildings will be introduced, but priority will be given to public buildings.
